Episode 12: 3 Types of Financial Blocker Thoughts

“The way that you think about money, your money mindset is what is creating your results with money.”

In today's episode, I will discuss money and your money mindset. I will talk with you about what I call financial blocker thoughts. This is a concept that I teach in my Holistic Money Program, where I help my students understand the thinking that blocks them from building wealth. There are three main types of financial-blocker thinking that I'm going to go over in this podcast today so you can become more aware of these three ways of thinking and how they can get in the way of your financial success. I want you to start to discover your financial power.

Examine the connection between your thoughts about money and the world and your financial results. Talking to those with a different money mindset and successful financial outcomes can help you see key differences in their thinking. This can inspire you to adopt similar outlooks and achieve greater financial freedom. Be mindful of your thoughts about money, income, and the lifestyle you want to have with it. Avoid comfortable, non-challenging thoughts that don't push you to grow financially or personally. These thoughts may seem humble or egoless, but they can hold you back from reaching your full potential and financial success.

Notable Quotes

  • I want to encourage you; if you need help, ask for help. You belong, you're worthy of community, you're worthy of support.

  • One of the key tenants of believing that the way you think about money is what creates your financial results is this belief that: I create my financial results and the way that my brain thinks about the world around me and perceives everything that happens is what is creating the net worth number in my bank accounts.

  • Some people have it way better than you and have a much easier time in their wealth-building journey. On the flip side, there are undoubtedly people that have it way worse than you do and have so many more headwinds in their financial journey, but what matters for every single one of you, regardless of those external circumstances, is the way that you think about yourself and your power despite those things.

  • You do not let the negative things get in your way, you keep going because you believe that the future you want for yourself is possible, and if anyone can bring it to life, it is you.

  • When you're constantly in the identity of someone bad with money, someone who is ashamed of themselves with money, you will perpetuate this reality because you believe that you are this person.

  • What we don't realize is that when we prioritize those things, we start to have money for them. We have the security and the ease of the plan that reflects them; we experience more freedom and ease today.

  • I want you to notice that your thoughts about what you should or shouldn't charge for a product or a service or whatever it is that you're selling is based on what you believe people can or can't afford versus really looking at the value of what it is that you're selling and what it brings to someone's organization or their life or their company.
